What is an SSL Certificate?
| SSL Certificates enable websites/servers to prove their identity via a trusted 3rd party such as GlobalSign. This enables browsers and other devices to create secure HTTPS connections to the website. An SSL certificate is digitally signed by a certificate authority (CA) such as GlobalSign or Verisign, which web browsers already know are a trusted 3rd party who can verify the websites identity. This verification process enables users to browse and provide personal details with confidence that the website they are using is who it says it is an that no one is able to interfer, or view their communications between them and the website/server. |
