How to add an intro

Using WHMsonic you can easily add an intro file to your stream, so when a user connects it will first play the intro file before connecting to your stream.

This can be very useful to both establish your brand or radio station name and can also be used to advertise, for instance you could have a jingle with "Radio Station Name, Radio Slogan Provided By XDnet.co.uk for all your hosting needs" (obviously advertisement for XDnet is optional).

Firstly Login to your SHOUTcast cPanel, and click WHMsonic.

WHMsonic ShoutCast Admin Pro

Here you will see your WHMsonic Admin Pro panel,  select "intro features"

Now you can see the intro features page (shown below)

Note: The bit rate and channel settings of your intro should be the same as your stream, so if your streaming at 128KB/s in Stereo, the intro file needs to be 128kb/s and be in stereo, if this is not done, the stream output gets very messed up, and starts making all sorts of unpleasant noises.

Using the browse button locate the intro file enter it's bitrate (which matches your stream) into the "Type Bitrate" box and click save.

This should upload your intro file and edit the config files for you, your server will have to be restarted everytime you make changes to the config.

So once you have made the change go back to the main WHMsonic panel and you can see the Quick Control to Stop and then restart the server.

Press Stop.

Wait, Refresh and the status should say Offline.

Now click start.

Your ShoutCast should restart and streaming will resume.

NOTE: Intro/Backup features can not work with AutoDJ so you must ensure AutoDJ is disabled before trying to use Intro/Backup features otherwise it will not work.
