XDnet has been busy migrating our shared web hosting servers to the Equinix LD5 datacentre in Slough (just outside London) – Here’s why.
So what is Equinix? And why is it so awesome?

To ensure the up most security on our servers we operate strict firewalls on all our servers to help protect our clients sites, such as automatically blocking users who incur too many login failures.
Because of this legitimate customers can sometimes find themselves blocked and unable to access the server. Until now clients have needed to contact the support desk to have the blocks removed, which is why we have now developed the “Firewall Unblocker” tool within the client area.
The firewall unblocker tool enables clients to simply login and view any blocks which might be in effect on their current IP address and remove them.
You can find a link to the Firewall Unblocker page on the right hand side menu in your client area:
Here you will find all the servers which you have services on with details of any blocks which might be in effect for your current IP address:
To remove blocks, simply click the “UNBLOCK ME NOW” link and the block will be removed from the firewall within 1 – 5 minutes.
